Why are some black people ****** towards mixed-race people?

By admin | Dec 29, 2008

Hmmmm… asked:

There seems to be an increasing amount of hostility coming from black people towards mixed-race people. I am mixed race and have experienced it myself. I am wondering why this is and if any other mixed-race people have been victim of it like I have. What have been your experiences with it?

Just like a white person can be ****** a black person can be racist, ****** don’t like mixed-race people because they don’t want their race to mix with anyother race.

I truly feel that this is untrue.

The majority of black families has such a range of colors and skin tones in their family tree, it’s hard for me to believe that there are a large number of people being hostile toward you because you’re mixed.

In the average black person’s immediate family, you can have different skin tones for nearly white to dark as night, and many hair types also. My sister is so light you can see her veins. I’m dark and you can barely see me when you turn the lights off, LOL. My mom has hair like the average biracial person and she’s light with freckles. I’m dark but have freckles. People often use to go up to my brother speaking Spanish because they thought he was Hispanic.

Maybe the hostility that people show toward you have nothing to do with your background, but your personality.

I think a lot of black people still see anything or anyone white or mixed as a threat and maybe there are some (not all) blacks still out there that are jealous and wish they were light with the good, wavy hair. I’m dark-skinned and I’ve been discriminated against most of my life by my own race because I act white and am educated and don’t look and act hood like them.

The same reason why some white people **** mixed raced people. It’s all ignorance and lack of good education. I think mixed race people are true signs of the fact that all of our mitochondria came from the same place in Africa. If people evolved from different places, there could be no mixed race. Our DNA would not be able to cross.
I’m not comparing people to animals when I say this but take for instance a liger, both a tiger lion are big cats that live on different continents. When they cross breed them in zoo, they made ligers. They have traits from both but 97% are sterile have other genetic problems. If humans weren’t supposed to mix races then children born of different races would have genetic problems which they don’t. In fact mixed races spread genetic diversity which is fantastic for the human race. In some societies it’s wrong but from the scientific point of view it’s wonderful.

I think people are taking out on you because you represent a *********** relationship which they feel uncomftorable with. My friend growing up had the same problem in the US. Her father was African American in the military who married a German woman. She spent time living in Germany right outside DC on the Virginia side, while in high school (late 90’s) in the US she was made fun of and called an Oreo by people of many races so much to the point that she took classes online to get out faster. Now she’s on her way to a to a PHD in Germany. She told me they are more excepting in Europe then here. She told me since she didn’t try to be one race more than the other she suffered backlash from both but she like you felt it more from the African American kids at school who thought that she felt like she was better than them.

Well now, sounds as if you are being biased towards Black people.

You cannot tell me or make me believe you have not experienced this form of bigotry from SOME White people as well?

    What’s the real deal here?

    It’s not just black people.

Some of us are and some of you are the same way towards blacks.

Mixed people have been a part of Black America since slavery. For years, mixed people have been considered ‘black’ if they had African ancestry and had absolutely not choice.

They have been victimized more by MAINSTREAM America than by black people.

Have you noticed some people from African countries don’t really see American Blacks as ‘black’ at all? They will point out that we are so mixed up, how can we really be black!

  12. Muph P January 15, 2009 3:45 pm

the more black people mix the less they will exist, this may be why for some, a lot of mixed race people consider them selves all black that is even more annoying, I’m sorry that you have to deal with racism from both sides that’s probably why bi-racial people do pick a race to claim, I hope your above this, and for the others, ***** them you don’t need to please people like that they’re the ignorant ones

  13. soulflower January 17, 2009 6:00 pm

Other groups of people have actually been more hateful to the mixed race people living among them.

But I only have this to say:

    1. I PERSONALLY don’t **** you.

    2. I have had mixed race people be EXTREMELY nasty to me, especially of late, for no reason whatsoever.

They are treated better, than darker, coarser haired blacks. Most black children (with 2 black parents) are ignored from the media. Halle Berry (half white and got a nose job to look whiter), Kimora lee (Half Japanese), Tracey Ellis Ross (Diana Ross’s daughter, half white), the list goes on…

But my mom is yellow, and my granny looks white, and they pity biracial children, not **** them.

I don’t really care. People don’t have control of their parents producing them or what features they are born with. And I don’t think people who are mixed are anymore or less special than anyone else.
